Welcome to the blog of the first annual Lighthouse Tournament. This week-long tournament consists of teams from Long Island, China, Finland and Westchester.
In the Long Island division, dozens of teams at the squirt, pee wee, bantam and midget levels will compete amongst teams ib their own level for a chance to reach "Championship Sunday," where a champion will be crowned for each age group at the Nassau Coliseum.

The Tournament has been broken down into two divisions – Long Island and International.

The Mites/Mini-Mites jamboree will take place at the Nassau Coliseum on Sunday.

The International Division is comprised of two teams from China, one from Finland and a fourth from Westchester.

The four teams will compete in a round-robin tournament, with the top two teams competing on Championship Sunday for the division's first place trophy.

The Lighthouse Tournament is also complemented by the Lighthouse Cup, which pits the best high school kids from Nassau County against their counterparts from Suffolk County. The Lighthouse Cup game is scheduled for 5 pm on Monday at the Nassau Coliseum.

Check back to the Lighthouse Tournament Blog for up-to-date information, results and comments from players, coaches and organizers.

Good luck to all of the participants!
