Posting (7/28/10 - 12:55 p.m.) - The New York Islanders have placed defenseman Brendan Witt on unconditional waivers.


Posting (7/16/10 - 4:27 p.m.) - Forward David Toews, younger brother of the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan, is leaving the University of North Dakota to play in the Western Hockey League. The team has not yet been determined.

Toews finished his sophomore season with the Fighting Sioux with 32 games played, 4 goals, and 11 assists. The Fighting Sioux were the Western Collegiate Hockey Association champions, but lost in the Northeast Regional of the NCAA Frozen Four Tournament by a score of 3-2 to Yale.

Joel Rechlicz has cleared unconditional waivers and his contract was terminated. Reclicz is now an unrestricted free agent.

At noon today, forward Joel Rechlicz cleared unconditional waivers.

The 6-4, 220 pound, 23-year-old had a career-high 128 penalty minutes in 21 games last year with with the Islanders American Hockey League affiliate Brigeport Soundtigers. He played in six games for the Islanders last season, and had no points and 27 PIM.

- Today the New York Islanders placed forward Joel Rechlicz on unconditional waivers. 

Rechlicz played in 23 games for the New York Islanders between the 2008-2010 seasons. Last season in Bridgeport he played 21 games and totaled 128 PIM.
